  • Does not transfer Google user data to third parties unless necessary to provide user-facing features, comply with applicable laws, or as part of a merger/acquisition with prior user consent
  • Does not allow humans to read Google user data unless with user consent for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or when data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to recognize your browser, maintain your session, and remember your preferences. Cookies are small data files stored on your device. We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled without losing access to the platform.
  • Functional cookies: Remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent you from accessing certain features of the platform or may cause the platform to function improperly.

Web Beacons and Tracking Pixels

We may use web beacons (small electronic files) in emails sent through the platform to track whether emails have been opened and which links have been clicked. This data is used to measure the effectiveness of your outreach and improve platform features. We do not use tracking pixels for third-party advertising purposes.

Do Not Track Signals

We respect Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals sent by your browser. When we detect a DNT signal, we will not collect analytics data beyond what is essential for platform operation and security.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We share information only as follows:

Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each receives only the minimum data necessary:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI): Your profile data and context is sent to Anthropic's API to generate pitch letters, research, and content. Anthropic processes this data per their Privacy Policy.
  • Google (Gmail API): OAuth tokens and email send requests for authorized outbox functionality. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel: Hosts the platform infrastructure. Data may transit through Vercel's edge network.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL): Stores all platform data in an encrypted, cloud-hosted database.
  • Stripe: Processes payments and manages subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Aggregated and Anonymous Data

We may share aggregated, anonymized data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. This data may be used for research, analytics, or to improve our services. This sharing is not restricted by this Privacy Policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to detect or prevent fraud.

Business Transfers

If Good News AI is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Automated Decision-Making

Good News AI uses automated processing to score pitches, rate podcast shows (tier scoring), and generate content recommendations. These automated processes help improve the quality of AI-generated outputs and are used to enhance your experience on the platform. Automated scoring does not affect your access to platform features or your subscription status.

If you have concerns about automated decision-making, you may contact us at support@shantemicah.com to request a manual review of any automated decision that affects you.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). Payment information is encrypted and processed by Stripe — we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. We implement role-based access controls, audit logging of sensitive operations, secure server infrastructure behind firewalls, and regularly review our security practices.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to protect your account credentials.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If your subscription lapses or you request account deletion, we will retain your data for 90 days to allow for account recovery, then delete it permanently. You may request earlier deletion by emailing support@shantemicah.com.

Audit logs are retained for 24 months for security and legal compliance purposes. Payment records may be retained longer as required by tax and financial regulations.
